Oral conversation day 1
One elderly relative of mine would be my grandmother. She is a wonderful woman and a great cook. Although her cooking skills cannot be match to some of the famous cooks out there, but to think of the work she needs to put in at her age just to cook a heartwarming meal for the whole family, anything she cook would be nice. Even in her sixties, surrounded by sickness and pain, she still lives on smiling. Her heartwarming smile would means that my parents have done a good job in taking care of her, and fro that smile, i learn that i should be filial to my parents, and one day receive this same smile from them.
If i were able to do something for her, i would bring her for a big feast, to let her enjoy herself as much as she can before she....
I think that elderly should live among with their family, together under one roof. On the verge of life and death, what elderly would love the most is to enjoy every bit of the time they have left with their family and friends. Elderly should live under the care of their family members, but if the family isn't able to take care of the elderly, sending them to the nursing home would be a good choice. For example, for a couple of two, and both of them are working, there is hardly any time for them to interact with the elderly. It would be better if they were sent to the elderly home where they can meet new friends and be taken care of 24 hours round the clock.
If i were to design a special home for the elderly, it would include a nice garden to freshen the air up and to allow the elderly to take walks throuhg the garden. It would also include a exercising room for the elderly to exercise. Last but not least, i would include an interaction room for the elderly to interact and talk to the others...
I think that special home for the elderly should not be free of charge. If the special homes where to be free of charge, everyone would send their elderly to the homes. Not only that, the homes will not be able to sustain itself as there isn't any fund coming into the homes for the homes to upgrade or to sustain the basic necessities the elderly they need...

This picture shows a scene in the nursing home where seven elderly, each sitting on a wheelchair, are playing ball the two ladies wearing a white shirt and black skirt, who are probably nurses taking care of these elderly. The nurse with the hair tied up is standing in the middle, throwing the beach ball at the old man who raises his hand readily to catch the ball. the other nurse stands at the background, beside the elderly woman. Everyone's attention is to the ball. By looking at the railings at the central background, i think that this is the room where elderly from the nursing home exercise. It is good that that the elderly exercise regularly as it keeps them healthy and fit through their last few years of life. Many old people dread being sent to the nursing home as they think that their children have neglected them, but for most of the time, its is really for their own good. If the coming generation cannot take good care of them themselves, sending them to the nursing home, where there are friends, food, shelter and unlimited care provided would be the best choice they could have, but this choice must come with regular visits to the elderly they sent there...
